Transfer College Student

Yakima Valley College (YVC) is excited to help you continue your journey towards a degree/certificate. Transfer students can follow these guidelines to help make the transition to YVC an easy one.

Steps to Apply

Applying is easy! Just follow the steps below to complete admission to YVC.

To begin the application process, you will need to Apply for Admission to get a ctcLink ID (your student ID Number).  Once you have completed your application and paid the $30 application fee, you will receive an email confirmation that contains your ctcLink ID and your next enrollment steps. The application fee must be paid before your application will be processed. More information on how to complete your Online Application for Admissions.

Visit the Student Portal and activate your ctcLink Account. Follow these instructions to activate your account.

Once you have applied, you will get an email informing you how to review your Math and English course placement. During your completion of the Online Application for Admissions, you will have uploaded your transcripts and test scores. This will help us place you in an appropriate course.

New Student Orientation (NSO) is here to assist you in identifying your program pathway and course selections and to learn about campus resources. Students with 30 or more transferable college-level classes do not need to attend the NSO however, advising is highly encouraged. Once your transcript(s) and/or placement results have been evaluated, you can sign up for NSO. Transfer students with less than 30 YVC college credits are required to attend NSO and meet with an advisor.

You will register for your classes at the New Student Orientation (NSO). You will be able to view your class registration online using the ctcLink Mobile or Desktop versions. You can search for classes and enroll in the term you applied for. (Student tutorials for ctcLink.)

Visit your ctcLink account to register and pay for classes. Pay your tuition and fees through your ctcLink account by the due date. You can find helpful guides on our ctcLink Student Tutorials.
