On October 5, Yakima Valley College’s STEM program will partner with volunteers from Yakima Recycles Glass to host a glass recycling drive on the Yakima Campus. Community members and local businesses will be able to dispose of glass, food and beverage containers in a low-cost, ecologically sustainable way. A disposal cost of $5 per cubic foot of recycled materials (examples a cubic foot of wine bottles is about 16 and a cubic foot of 12 oz. beer bottles is about 30) will be charged to cover transportation; materials may be dropped off from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Participating in the drive will help save energy, reduce carbon emissions, minimize landfill waste and keep the Yakima Valley community clean.
