Yakima Valley College’s Running Start Program will host information nights for current high school sophomores and juniors and their parents to learn how the program can enable them to earn up to two years of college credit tuition-free. The meetings will take place both online and in local high schools. Please see the table below for a list of upcoming information sessions.

Other Area High Schools If your high school is not hosting an information night, please feel free to attend any other convenient session. Contact your high school’s counseling office or visit yvcc.edu/runningstart for information about the Running Start Program at YVC.

The Running Start Program offers eligible high school juniors and seniors the opportunity to enroll in college classes at YVC’s Yakima and Grandview campuses, as well as online classes, and receive both high school and college credit. Public, private and homeschool students are eligible for Running Start.

Running Start students can:

  • Get a head start on college by earning up to two years of college credit
  • Attend classes full- or part-time
  • Select and sample diverse classes
  • Transition to college life
  • Save thousands of dollars earning their college degree and enter their career more quickly
