Yakima Valley College is accepting applications for the Associate in Nursing Direct Transfer degree (ADN-DTA/MRP) program for spring quarter 2025. Deadline to apply is December 20.
YVC’s program is six quarters in length (two academic years) and leads to an associate degree. Students are expected to complete four quarters of prerequisite and supporting courses prior to applying for YVC’s nursing program. Nursing courses proceed consecutively with objectives for each course accomplished before the student proceeds to the next course.
Graduates of YVC’s program sit for the RN licensure exam (NCLEX-RN) and will be considered as having met the minimum requirement for transfer into Washington State RN-to Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) programs.
The career offers competitive pay with an average wage in the Yakima area of $46.72 per hour or $97,180 annually, and a Washington state average of $53.38 per hour or $111,030 annually according to data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics as of May 2023.
Students enrolled in YVC’s nursing program are eligible for extra financial assistance through the college’s Special Funding program. The program helps eligible low-income students with the cost of tuition and mandatory fees as well as reimbursement for textbooks and supplies.
