Yakima Valley College’s Bachelor of Applied Science in Teacher Education (BAS-TE) program, in partnership with Central Washington University, will host an Ed After Hours event on January 22 from 5:30 – 7 p.m. via Zoom. The free event includes an evening of conversation featuring education experts discussing classroom management through a restorative justice lens. Participants will also learn about YVC’s BAS-TE program and the master’s in education programs at CWU.
Participants can register to join the session via Zoom.
YVC’s BAS-TE program offers multiple pathways leading to teacher certification in K-8 schools with optional endorsements for English Language Learner and Early Childhood Education. The program is residency-based with candidates completing an intensive residency experience (student teaching) that provides hands-on work in K-8 classrooms under the guidance of a mentor teacher and field supervisor within local partner schools. In addition to residency experiences, candidates complete core courses, which are delivered in a hybrid format combining face-to-face evening and online classes.
