Through the DEI Professional Development Work Group, YVC offers employees a variety of in-person workshops that address cultural relevance, pedagogy, bias and microaggressions, power dynamics, and gender inclusivity. In-person training sessions also provide a space for facilitated conversations and exchange of ideas. Topics are also adjusted each year to meet the needs of the campus with regard for changing political environments and other external factors that may impact the campus and institution. Workshops are offered twice per quarter and at, both, the Yakima and Grandview campuses.
