Business Administration
The Business Administration degrees are designed to fulfill the necessary requirements for working towards a bachelor’s degree, to equip students with technical knowledge and skills to enter the business workforce, or to update workplace skills.
- Students wishing to transfer to a four-year university to earn a bachelor’s degree in a business major will pursue the Associate in Business – Direct Transfer Agreement/Major Ready Pathway (AB-DTA/MRP) degree option at YVC.
- Students pursuing the Bachelor of Applied Science in Business Management (BASM) degree at YVC should select the Associate of Applied Science – Transfer in Business Administration (AAS-T).
- Students looking to gain technical knowledge and skills should pursue the AAS degrees or certificate options.

Bachelor of Applied Science Degree
The Bachelor of Applied Science Degree in Business Management (BASM) is designed for students who have earned an applied associate’s degree and seek a pathway to an applied bachelor’s degree. The pathway combines lower-division technical and transfer courses with upper-division credits in business management resulting in an application-oriented four-year degree.
Classes are offered during the evening, with each class occurring one time per week for two hours. Continued instruction and student interaction take place online. Full-time students, those taking 15 credits per quarter, can finish the program in two years upon completion of all prerequisites. Courses are offered during the fall, winter, and spring quarters. This program is also open for part-time enrollment.

Certificates
The accounting clerk certificate is designed for students who desire beginning entry-level employment in an accounting office or department. Courses in the certificate prepare students for specific work-related job functions. Courses in the certificate may apply toward the accounting certificate or the associate of applied science degree in accounting.

The Management certificate is designed for students who wish to pursue the management and supervision functions of business. Courses in the certificate may apply toward the Associate of Applied Science degree in Business Management.

The Marketing certificate is designed for students who desire to specialize in the sales and marketing areas of business. Courses in the certificate may apply toward the Associate of Applied Science degree in Business Management.

The Retail Management certificate is a nine course program designed to prepare individuals for the fast-paced retail industry. The program is intended to help students develop an understanding of the retail manager's job and the requirements for career success and advancement in the retail industry. The program serves both entry-level job candidates and incumbent employees.
The Retail Management certificate meets the needs of industry leaders such as the Western Association of Food Chains (WAFC). Courses in the certificate may apply toward the Associate of Applied Science degree in Business Management. The Retail Management certificate is not limited to the grocery industry - it is designed to prepare employees and advance careers of general retail professionals.

Wine Sales Certificate
Looking to enter the Washington wine industry? The Agriculture and Business Administration programs collaborate to offer a short-term certificate that combines coursework from both programs to provide training options aimed at industry needs. The Wine Sales Certificate is designed to provide students with a concentration of courses in wine sales and marketing. All courses taken for the certificates would apply toward the related associate degree programs. Careers include tasting room attendants and wine club managers.
