About Katharine

Geology is, to me, the coolest subject. I want my students to have every opportunity to succeed in my course. I don’t want them just memorizing facts – I want them to see the world in a different way. Earth Science is more than just rocks; if my students look outside and understand where their drinking water originates, how a cloud forms, or what to do during a natural disaster, then I have reached them in some way. I also hope to impact them on a larger scale, where they become informed citizens and understand the consequences of their impact on the world. All students are the future of our society, and our classes have a chance to make a positive influence on their lives as learners and citizens. Take Geology, I promise you won't regret it - it may even become your major!

Beyond my passion for geology, I’m also an avid rock climber, which fuels my appreciation for Geology and inspires me to share that enthusiasm with my students. Join Rock Climbing Club!
