This past year the Parker Youth and Sports Foundation (PY&SF) worked to have the 1897 wedding picture of A.E. and Rose Larson put on display in the Larson Building.
The PY&SF, which started in 2004, received financial support from Daryl and Sherrie Parker. Daryl’s father was Shirley Parker, who built Parker Field in 1937. During the late 1930s into the 1940s, Shirley Parker, along with his mother, Rose Parker Larson, donated the land for the Yakima Valley College campus, Larson Park and Larson Gallery. A.E. Larson amassed a fortune in Yakima via lumber yards, building hotels and theatres, investing in Sunshine Silver mining in Idaho, and crowned by the construction of the Larson Building that opened in 1931.
