Yakima Valley College recently selected Gina Scribner for the summer employee of the quarter award. Scribner is a program assistant in the arts and sciences division.
The Classified Employee of the Quarter Award is presented quarterly to one employee who demonstrates a high-level or job performance, quality customer service and adherence to YVC’s mission and core themes.
“Gina is always willing to go the extra mile for her students and for faculty,” noted one colleague who nominated her for the award. “Gina works with multiple programs that require specialized work that has to be done at the last minute. There are often extra demands on her from faculty and she always shows a calm demeanor as she is walking faculty through steps needed to be taken. She is an extraordinary employee and is very much appreciated.”
“Gina has worked tremendously hard at preparing art lab kits for those students registering in art classes with a lab component since we’ve been online,” said another colleague. “The dedication she puts into these kits is so time consuming from ordering the supplies, to putting the kits together, to scheduling pickup days, to coordinating with those students who put things off until the last minute and make things almost impossible. Not only does she do this with art, but she does this with music and drama as well. She goes above and beyond what is asked of her and we all need to strive for that kind of excellence.”
Employees who have been employed by YVC for at least one year are eligible for this award.
