The nursing
profession is part of a centuries-old tradition of providing quality
care
for patients.
Though the fundamental principles remain the same today, technology and
a rapidly changing demographic require nursing professionals to broaden
their skills and experience and apply them in a number of varied
settings.
The YVCC Nursing Program offers an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) that is six quarters in length. The program provides a wide variety of learning opportunities and includes experiences in:

The Yakima Valley Community College Nursing program is accredited by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission and is approved by the Washington State Nursing Care Quality Assurance Commission. Upon successful completion of the fourth quarter of the ADN program, a student will be eligible to take the Practical Nursing Examination offered by the Washington State Nursing Care Quality Assurance Commission. Upon successful completion of the sixth quarter, a student will be eligible to take the Registered Nurse Examination offered by the Washington State Nursing Care Quality Assurance Commission.
