SPOKANE — Lisa Bishop might not have led the Yakima Valley women's basketball team in scoring, but she certainly came up big when they needed her most.
Bishop scored nine of the Yaks final 11 points, capped by two free throws with 13 seconds left as they held on to defeat Spokane 71-68 in an NWAACC Eastern Region contest Saturday.

New Coach, Luiz Machado is optimistic that his recent recruiting
efforts will field an extremely competitive team in the first year
of the new soccer program. “Most
of my recruiting has been focused locally, the great thing is that
the Yakima Valley has strong history of competitive women’s
soccer and there is a lot of talent to go after.”
