Yaks rally past Roadrunners

Yakima Valley's new game announcer brought a little extra energy to Sherar Gymnasium Thursday night.  It might have been just what was needed to pull out the tight victory for the Lady Yaks.  Shalane Scott had 14 kills and Emily Harris added 13 as Yakima Valley rallied for a 3-2 victory over Linn-Benton in a non-league volleyball match Thursday night at Sherar Gym.

The Yaks won 25-27, 25-23, 17-25, 25-16, 15-12.

"We had a couple of great service runs," coach Al Rogers said. "We had a great run in Game 2 and another one in Game 4. The kids are finally coming together."

Roweena Yamat totaled 17 digs for YVCC (1-8), which opens NWAACC Eastern Region play Wednesday at Blue Mountain.
