Get Admitted

Admissions:
  • Pick up an Admissions Application at YVCC or apply online at www.yvcc.edu.
  • If you are applying to any of the following programs, please contact that office for a program application.
    • Allied Health Technology Programs
    • Dental Hygiene
    • Dental Assisting
    • Medical Office Assistant
    • Nursing
    • Radiologic Science
    • Early Childhood Education
    • Veterinary Technology
    • Yakima Valley Technical Skills Center
  • Complete the application and return it to the Admissions Office promptly with the $20 application fee.

Financial Aid:
  • Apply for Financial Aid as soon as you make your decision to attend college.
  • Complete a FAFSA application. You can obtain an application at YVCC, from your high school counselor or apply online at www.fafsa.ed.gov.

  • Make copies of the application, then mail in the FAFSA envelope inside the application.
  • If applying online, print copies of the signature page, application and the confirmation page. Mail the signature page immediately.
  • The YVCC Foundation office, located in Prior Hall, awards $170,000 in scholarships each year. Please fill out a scholarship application form and return it to the Foundation Office. Deadline for the Foundation Application is March 15.
Transcripts:
  • If you have attended another college or university, please request an official copy of your transcripts to be sent to Yakima Valley Community College.
  • YVCC no longer requires high school transcripts or GED certificates for general admission.
  • Many special admissions programs require high school transcripts. Please send the transcripts directly to the program.
Other Credits Accepted:

YVCC grants college credit for the following programs.

  • Advanced Placement (AP)
  • College Level Examination Program (CLEP)
  • International Baccalaureate (IB)
  • College in high school.

If you have participated in any of these programs, please submit official transcripts or test results to the Admissions Office.
